"The Sunset Piper" By David Cook. Pencil sketches and Watercolor Illustrations.
Otherwise entitled "The Giants Causeway". A story about the giants building a causeway from Ireland to England. Based on a true geographic location. The Sunset Piper was hired to create a song that would span the generations, a song to sing and to work by. The giants began to build, but were detained first by rough winter weather, and then the kings business. The task of building the causeway was then taken up by the giant's wives (The Ladies), who then had to go to the Piper and encourage him to come and play for them while working. The Ladies did manage to finish the causeway, and there was a huge party. In the end, Nessie the Seamonster, on her daily constitutional around Ireland, was blocked by the new causeway, and proceeded to destroy it, thus creating an inland loch in Scotland, where she is to this day reportedly seen.
